John H. Tomkins, EA, CFP graduated from Scotia High School in up-state New York; graduated from Syracuse University in 1960 with a business degree. The adults in our family decided to raise our children in a rural setting.
In 1974 I purchased a tax and bookkeeping practice in Lucerne, California. While serving the tax and bookkeeping needs in Lake County, the three girls graduated from Upper Lake schools.
Community service runs parallel to business service and here are a few things of interest. My first was as President of the Upper Lake Farm Center which was part of the California Farm Bureau; 24 years as Trustee of the Upper Lake High School District; Lifetime accounting credential with Mendocino-Lake Community College District teaching tax and accounting; currently serving as Trustee of Mendocino College; member of North Shore Business Association and President on several occasions; currently member of Lake Family Resource Center Board of Directors; Board Member of Sutter Lakeside Hospital serving as Chair of Finance Committee and also Vice-President until changeover and now on the Sutter Lakeside Advisory Committee; Member of Lake County Chamber of Commerce; Member of the SPCA Board.
John Tomkins is a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents, the California Society of Enrolled Agents and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.
